I am looking for sword & sorcery, fantasy, heroic fantasy in a short novel format. It seems to be out of style now but I really enjoyed a smaller stand alone read. Does anyone know of any books around 200-300 pages long that have the wonder and action that I crave? I am a working man and just don't always want to commit to a twelve book bloated saga.

Dale -

I'm really honestly hoping to be the answer to your search. Or rather, that Rogue Blades Entertainment (RBE) is. We've just released our first book, an anthology of heroic adventure, and we're currently reading submissions for the second. I am also reading a handful of serial character collections and novels, but odds of getting something out yet this year are slim. Slim, but not vanished - I'd like to have another book available for Christmas.

While my goal sure is to be the provider of that which you seek, I can recommend a name or two to help fill the time until RBE can meet your needs: the novels of David Gemmell and the Black Gate Adventure Magazine can fill many a dry reading spell.

And, as CW suggests, would you be interested in slush reading?
