Following on form the Rackham thread...

One of the more neglected fantasy artists of the last century, Sidney Sime (1867-1941) was an illustrator and long-time collaborator with Lord Dunsany, illustrating a number of his collections during his lifetime. Dunsany was a huge admirer of Sime's work, actually basing several of his short stories around Sime's illustrations. To what extent the two played off each other I don't know, but there is a sympatico present that I've rarely seen in other author-artist collaborations.

To me he is certainly one of the finest fantastic artists of the 20th century, and a great inspiration in my own work.

Thanks Jay... Sime is awesome. He reminds of Booth, etc.  A painter with ink.
