Just wanted to tell everyone about Bohemian Book Marketing owned by Gabrielle Albano.

A few months ago I hired her to help me promote my latest magickal urban fantasy novel The Witches of Dixie, and I have been very very pleased with the results.  I began seeing sales after the first month.

Her rates are very reasonable, so if you have a book to sell, check out her blog at http://www.BohemianBookMarketing.blogspot.com and send Gabby an email.  She offers several promotional services for authors.

And she is a joy to work with!   rofl

Ah-ha, a marketing company.  Thanks.  There are lots of discussions about marketing your stories here, but I think you're the first one to toss out a plug for an actual marketing Co.

I knew there must be some of them out there but I wouldn't have a clue which to look into.

What an interesting way to get people interested in reading! Book trailers are like movie trailers, but for books! You can find them all over the internet now, but here is a site that's featuring them on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/booktrailers

Book trailers suck.

(In case this wasn't a drive-by poster, my actual position is a little more nuanced than that.)

I actually really enjoy watching book trailers. I made a trailer for one of my books on Toufee, and the special effects were great. It took me 26 hours (okay, I'm picky!), but that'll show you how much fun I had.

The result was way too long, had no sound (my computer couldn't handle it), and couldn't be uploaded to YouTube (too bad, that, because it's the place to be!), but I had a blast doing it. Embarking on some kind of promo effort like a book trailer or banner making is a really fun break from writing, and let's face it: we all need to promote, right? And who better knows what our books are about to piece together a banner/book trailer, right?

Excuses, excuses. I did it, and I swear I'll do it again. And again. Whatever it takes lol !

As soon as I get another 26 hours free...

Cheers,

ND/Melody

Hey all...

There are a lot of sites out there that will help promote your book. Some are more worth it than others of course:-) For example, the company I was working with not long ago has reasonable rates but so many clients they weren't giving the best service. And, the more popular authors with books from major publishers were getting "star" treatment and small press or self-published books were getting the short end of the promotion stick

That's one of the reasons I've started my own book promotion business. I've kept the reasonable rates but not the large number of clients so each author and book gets personal attention.

I'm in process of setting up a website but if you are interested in getting some promotion...you can email or PM me here. I'm doing Virtual Book Tours, sending out press releases, setting up author chats, and I'm working on setting up Cyber Book Parties. I've also got reviewers I'm working with.

I don't do book trailers at this time however I can put you into contact with someone who does if you'd like one.
