Every 6 months duotrope emails all editors with a listing update. I noticed that if I replied to that email, I got a response, even though the web form was apparently not working.

I emailed them again today, to ask that they please change my listing, and mentioned that people were having a problem contacting them through their web form. I got a rapid response. Here is what they said:

==========
Regarding contacting us … A bit over a month ago, we discovered a problem with our web host’s spam filtering system. It was blocking about 10-20% of the mail sent to us. The blocked mail never even made it into our Junk mail box. Since we discovered the problem, we re-programmed our online contact form to bypass the spam filters altogether. Our online contact form is now the safest way to contact us, since mail sent to our regular email address can still get trapped by the web host’s spam filter and we’ll never even know it happened.

However, when we announced the discovery (and solution) of the mail problem, we received about 3 months’ worth of updates in one weekend. We hope to get caught up soon, but at the moment we are swamped with market updates.

Thought i'd pass the information along

ahhhh, too late for me now, but that would explain why my WWII journal never got updated and was eventually drummed out. It was a monthly ritual for me to wait for the poetry listing each month, find my info still wrong, email them the correct info and never see it updated. Then they broke the pattern one time - my site was no longer listed. Voilà ! No more updating necessary!
