| Posted By : RyanHarvey - 6/24/2005 6:07 PM | Most of you are probably familiar with Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org), the extensive on-line Encylopedia which anyone can edit. Most of their articles are very informative and in-depth, but their sword-and-sorcery article (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword-and-sorcery) is skimpy and embarassing. Some of us should really chip in to improve it, and include a few links at the end (one of which would be to our site, since we are on the way to becoming authoritative!)
I‘ve already made a major correction on the entry, which was too embarrassing to leave alone: the article said the Robert E. Howard invented the character of Red Sonja in a Conan story (!!!!!) and then she was adapted to comics. I put my foot down on that one immediately. This misconception just won't die!
Anyone, those of you familiar with Wikipedia might want to take a look at it. If you aren't, spend some time looking over articles and getting a sense of how to edit pages, and then contribute to making a scholarly and more indepth sword-and-sorcery entry.

Hey, I think that's fair...we've got plenty of articles and reviews for peole who want to know more! And there's Flashing Swords for them as well.

I agree with you Nathan, there are some excellent articles and posts by the members we have on this board and those of the website Swordandsorcery.com. Perhaps we can make the Wikipedia entry one of the best sources for those seeking to understand our genre and new fans.
