The painting was of a female archer standing in snow. Towering over her is an undead creature in armor, the monster's eyes glowing and several of the archer's arrows protruding from it. I seem to remember the undead thing waving an axe.
I don't think the artist was Elmore, but that's who's coming to mind. Any ideas? www.tyjohnston.blogspot.com http://radiodarkbow.blogspot.com Two songs a day, every day.

Thinking about the good ol' days made me remember another piece of artwork that will stay etched in my mind forever. It was not done by Horne nor was it for a sci-fi or fantasy product. It was the Rumpleman's girl decked out in gleaming armor, sword in hand, riding a polar bear through a snowy setting. As a pre-pubescent boy and a D&D geek it touched me in more ways than one. One of my favorites too. I knew exactly what it was before I had finished reading your description. On a side note, did you ever notice the monster from the picture is Gustavo's avatar? I do horrible things to punctuation.
