| Posted By : crystalwizard - 1/13/2007 12:23 AM | Can we have a place in the forums to list all members who are authors, with links to their books?
Maybe a closed forum or thread so we don't get a lot of chatter on it? Never meddle in the affairs of a wizard unless you are soggy and hard to light!

| Posted By : Dave - 5/11/2007 2:20 PM | I'm not really sure what you're asking for. A private forum for published authors? WHo decides who's 'published' and who's not. What would you discuss in there that wouldn't be appropriate for the general pop? My immeidate reaction is that something like that would be too SFWA-ish and not a positive addition to the open community I've tried to foster with SFReader.... Dave SFReader Webmaster Get Free Stuff

| Posted By : crystalwizard - 5/11/2007 2:52 PM | not a private forum, just an easy to find list of every member who's got stuff that's been published...book, magazine, e-zine, whatever (other than blog or something personal like that). Mostly so that the members could say 'hmm, I haven't anything to read, let's see who's got stuff I haven't seen yet', go down the list of other members and go take a peek at what they've put out.
I guess it would be up to the individual member to decide/own up to being 'published' or not, as I was kind of hoping that the individual members would be the ones to post all in one spot stuff like 'I've got these books out, and here's links to the issues of xxx where you can find my stories xx and yy' or something. (that's why I was thinking a forum thread, cause everyone could post their own stuff in it that way') I suggested closed cause I was hoping for a list, kind of like the books to read for the year list, not a discussion group. |

For those writers who are trying to get published, it shows the places they can go to send their stories, whether it be books or magazines. Also, if a would-be author isn't familiar with the publishers or magazines that will accept submissions from those without any publication credits, this would be a place to give them a start. I can be used as a resource for those who are just getting started, but aren't familiar with publishers that are out there.

| Posted By : crystalwizard - 5/20/2007 4:03 PM | In the On Writing forum, in the thread called Published Authors.
look at the top of the page and you'll find the New Topic button. Right about that you'll see a link called SFReader Forums.
click on that and it will load the main forum list.
Scroll down it slowly until you see the forum called On Writing.
Click on the forum name and you'll see all the threads. The Published Author's thread is stickied and will be the first thread in the list.
Let me know if you can't find it for some reason. Never meddle in the affairs of a wizard unless you are soggy and hard to light!
