Good movie, better book. Sabatini is one of my favorites. I'd also recommend his novels "The Sea Hawk" (the film of the same name was not really related), "Scaramouche," "Fortune's Fool," "The Tavern Knight," "Master at Arms" and ... oh, heck. Read them all. The only one I didn't like much was "The Gamester."
