Are they still alive? I sent them a submission in February and two queries so far... also the last message on their blog is from March and they skipped the April issue as well as the May issue...

here is a link to their website :http://coyotewildmag.com/

I got a reply from them two weeks ago. Query the editor again if you wish. It took me two months to make a sale to them so they're not ultra-quick.

I am confused by the message on their main board :
"We've suspended the April Issue, in order to adjust our publication schedule. We'll be back, the first week in May. See you here!"

but there is no May issue...

I bet they're running behind, which is not unusual. I've learned never to trust a market for timelines. I've seen editors say we'll reply in 3 weeks, and then three months later you're still checking your mailbox. They are most definitely alive as of recently as I heard from them this month. Maybe they're seriously considering your sub?

I've had a piece there for a loooong time, and I'm not alone, judging by Duotrope. They have twitched occasionally in the past couple of months but there's clearly a huge backlog. I didn't get a response to a query so I'm pretty much considering the sub there to be in limbo (which means I can send it elsewhere, and if CW should actually pipe up and say they want it, I can reply "well as I got no response to my query I assumed you weren't interested, it's at X at the moment, but if it doesn't sell there and you're still interested I'm happy for you to take it").

I subbed to Doorways about the same time and the situation there is much the same (and I'm still, technically, waiting on Aberrant Dreams after well over a year). I'll be in no hurry to sub to those markets again. I know this isn't the business to be in if you're in a hurry, but frankly, I'll try more responsive markets first unless there's a very good reason to hit a slow market (said "very good reason" usually meaning it pays pro rates).
