The Marsh God, written and scripted by Bruce Durham, inked by fantasy artist Miko, is now available. Each week on thursday we'll add a new page. Today we start with the cover and page one. Just visit our home page at http://flashingswords.sfreader.com.

Wow! I'm blown away by "The Marsh God." The visual detail is stunning and puts you right in the story. And the story so far, after three pages, is dynamite. I'm flashing back to some of the great Robert E. Howard stories that have been translated into comics. Great beginning.

Miko and Bruce are to be complimented on some excellent work.

Yeah, this is pretty darn good. A bit overwritten, but Bruce might well get past that after a while. Besides, I'm one of those rare comics fans who strongly prefers comics to be overwritten rather than underwritten. Prose is good, and I don't need a page filled with silent panels just to tell me that Character X stared at Character Y for a few moments.

I prefer comics to be overwritten somewhat as well. What doesn't work in straight text works very well in the graphic format of a comic.

Never meddle in the affairs of a wizard unless you are soggy and hard to light!
