So I am considering integrating a Paypal 'Buy it now' button with my website to accept online donations/payments.

I figured Paypal is the logical choice but maybe there are others?

If you are using Paypal, what sort of Paypal account do you have: personal, premier, or business?

Any gotchas, advice, etc. you'd care to share on this topic?

Thanks!

(Edit: FWIW I'm using Wordpress, so any tips, pitfalls, etc. regarding selecting a Paypal plugin or what have you is welcomed too!)

When we were running a business, including online sales, we had a paypal facility for payment and it was 100% reliable. Very simple to set up the links and worked perfectly every time.

PayPal is good in that there are no monthly commitments. If you don't sell anything through them for a month, you don't pay them a dime. All is taken out per transaction. So, if you think your sales will potentially be sporatic and/or low numbers, the slightly higher discount you're paying with them makes sense. If you sell a lot, however, then it makes sense to move to a traditional credit card processing company.

I've used them off and on, and not had any problems. I've not heard of Google check out, but looks like it is worth...checking out. ;-)
