I've a mystery/suspense novel that will be released this year, but I need some pre-release reviews. Anyone know some one who might be interested in reading the manuscript and writing one?

Thank you for the link. I read the article, but I'm left feeling I don't stand a chance of getting any blurbs, much less a review.

?? you'll have just as much of a chance as anyone else. All you have to do is ask people if they would, please.

Remember, you are doing THEM a favor. if you print their blurb in your book, they get free publicity with ever copy of it that sells.

Oh, I'm asking; I'm asking. At least I have one rather notable author reading the manuscript; two turned me down, nicely.

Others have told me to ask other people, that they don't do burbs except for well-known authors or authors through major publishing companies.

I'll be at two book events in April and May. I'll ask there, but that really puts the scheduled release in danger.

I personally don't use blurbs. I know from talking to a lot of readers that they don't like them and they especially don't like having someone else cheer-lead how great the book is.

I don't always use them, but for this book, I'd really like a couple of nice ones for the back of the dust jacket.

Of course, I realize that people, including me, don't always get what they want, and often get what they do NOT want. *laugh*
