Hey experts, help please.

The last video game for the PC that I owned and really enjoyed playing was NeverWinter Nights.

Does anyone know of a game that is similiar in rpg format of character development, ect, like the NeverWinter game but is in a more modern setting?

Maybe a spy or mystery game using character development? Even a futuristic setting would be cool.

Thanks much guys -- I'm in the mood to buy a nice PC game as I tuyrn 36 on the 25th of this month.

I wouldn't say it's like NeverWinter Nights (though there are plenty of rpg elements), but I can never say enough good about "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." Yes, I know there's plenty of violence and hookers and crude language, but it's also the best free-roaming environment I've yet to experience in a video game. Not a game for children.

And Nathan, happy birthday! I'll be turning 37 on June 14 myself. Already planning to buy the new "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories" for my PS2.

Happy b-day to yourself as well.

I've played the 1st two GTA and enjoyed them. Maybe I'll take a look into getting it for the PC as you say.

Thanks!

City of Heroes or City of Villian - MMORPG with super-heros and villian a la the comics....

Create a super hero (or villian) and build up your powers. I've never p;aued it, but I've heard good things.

The main problem I found with City of Heroes and City of Villains is the cost, because they are online-only games. You pay an initial $50 or $60 for the games, then you've got to pay monthly fees to play because you can't play the game offline. Maybe kids today are willing to pay it, or their parents, but my money's too preciious to have to keep paying a gamemaker over and over again.

I don't know if they make it for the PC, but I have a friend that raves about the Metal Gear games. Having never played them myself, I can't vouch for the character development, but I know it's in the spy/adventure mode.

And you can add myself to the list of June birthdays here. Mine's today, as a matter of fact, the big 4-0. Happy birthday to all my fellow Gemini's. ;)
