This is a very painful thing to hear, and something terribly painful for him to have to announce. The site belongs to Paul Kidby, Terry's prefered artist.

He seems to be taking the most optimistic approach to it that he can.  I don't think I could be that rational about something like that...especially after watching my grandmother deteriorate...

A major embuggerance. I hope they have the sense to cut way down on the strenuous public appearances. I would SO much rather have him put that energy into more books...

Aaargh! That just about sums up my feelings in a way that can be used on a family website. The things I said out loud will remain between me and anyone who heard me.

This sucks in a big way. I just love his books, and hope he will be able to continue writing until long after the rest of us are gone. And I still haven't forgiven the universe for killing Douglas Adams.

This year has not been kind to authors whose works I own large numbers of. First Robert Jordan and now this.

I love the fact he calls it an embuggerance.
Typical of him.
 
I have a book shelf, upon which sit two types of books.
David Gemmell and Terry Pratchett.
 
I lost one last year, and I don't want to lose the other anytime soon.
Seriously, take a celebrity writer! Please!
 
Unfortunately, this may get him more attention (I say unfortunately as it's for the wrong reason)
So maybe there can be something to take on a positive note. cry
