Forgotten Worlds magazine are rubbish at getting back to you. I've had three stories out to them over the past year and I have yet to hear back from them. They never even responded to my queries!!!

Probably the worst response time I have ever experienced.
Very unprofessional.

I dunno - I got a prompt, polite response from them quite recently (it was a form rejection mind you, but a prompt, polite form rejection nonetheless).

A friend of mine had a very unpleasant experience with them--everything sort of imploded on them about a year ago, and she and the others in that issue were very frustrated. It was after that that they went from monthly to, umm, whatever they are now, and I'd been under the impression that things were turning around for them though. I did have a submission to them that I never heard back from, but it was right at the time everything seemed to go wrong, so I'm not holding it against them.

I'd like to hear any other experiences, since I had been under the impression that things were going well now and was considering submitting something again.

I submitted early this year, just before their reported troubles.

I queried in July, and got a response after a couple of weeks sayin that they had received my story and would get back to me in a couple of weeks.

I queried again in October, having heard nothing, and I have heard nothing in response to that query.

However, in their defence, long response times are far from unknown in this industry. One of my sales was out for 374 days, another for 349. I've had a 320-day rejection and got one sub out on 302 days (with no answer to a query on that one, either).

Although there is no specific prohibition against multiple submissions on their website, I have to ask - Kelly, why, having had no response to your first submission, and with no sign of new issues of the magazine appearing, did you send a second, and then a third?
