Another of my speculative poems has been accepted for publication at the e-zine Bewildering Stories. "Ethereal Journey" will be appearing in a future issue.

I had the hardest time finding a home for this piece. It was rejected eight times before finally being accepted at Bewildering Stories. This one had me scratching my head for quite a while. I thought it was one of my better poems, so I started questioning my own judgement after having such difficulty placing it. Apparently, the ninth time was the charm!

At least it will now be published, and the roll goes on...roll

Thanks!

I think my biggest problem at this point is judging what markets are the right fit for each individual poem. I know what some people say about "send it out and let the editors decide", and it is a bit of a crap shoot anyway, but certain markets do seem more open to certain themes and styles than others.

Congrats - and yes, it's often a case of offering things to the wrong markets. Happens to me all the time.

Thanks!

It's hard to avoid slipping into the habit of only sending to places that have already published my poetry, places that already seem to like my style. I try to send to different markets, to expand my horizons, but sometimes I think certain markets are more open to my style than others.
