Hi, guys. NiteBlade, a spec fic site is holding a poll and asking readers to vote for their favorite poem and story that has previously been featured on their site.  I've written a collection of haiku called IMAGINARIUM and a story entitled MAGIC BEANS for Niteblade. I don't ask people to vote for my stories or poems and expect them to do what i tell them to, so if you've got 5 minutes of spare time, do head on over to the site...

There are links to the stories and poems. If you enjoy IMAGINARIUM and MAGIC BEANS, then place your votes. :) If my writing leaves a bad taste in your mouth, then you can vote for someone else's poem and story. No problemo. I won't leave carcasses of dead animals on your porch or spit in your coffee. lol

I forgot to mention, the poems and stories with the highest number of votes will be featured in a print anthology.

Aurelio Rico Lopez III aka "Thirdy" has had fiction featured in COLD FLESH (Hellbound Books), THE BLACKEST DEATH I, II, and III (Black Death Books), SPORTY SPEC: GAMES OF THE FANTASTIC (Raven Electrick Ink), STAR-SPANGLED ZOMBIE (Maniac Press), RAW MEAT (Sideshow Press), SHADOW BOX (Brimstone Press), TRIP THE LIGHT HORRIFIC (RAGE machine Books), DEAD MEN (AND WOMEN) WALKING (Bards and Sages), and THE BOOK OF SHADOWS VOL. I (Brimstone Press).  His poems have appeared in Mythic Delirium, Star*Line, Dark Animus, Goblin Fruit, Scifaikuest, Electric Velocipede, Sybil's Garage, The Horror Express, Down In the Cellar, and elsewhere.

Uh-oh, Thirdy, we're competing against each other. Well, at least our poems are. That's the downside of appearing in many of the same places.

This is a terrible situation for me, because I want to support my friends, but I also really want to be in that anthology. I wish I could be a bit more laid back about it. I admire your attitude about the whole thing.

Well, "Corpse-Candles" was still in the lead last I checked, so how 'bout I say right now go vote for Thirdy's poem and story!

The story is an effectively ironic twist on the "Jack and the Beanstalk" fairy tale, and the poem is a cute piece (a collection of speculative haiku).  I especially like the bit about the physician's unique patient, but then again I'm partial to dragons.

Heya, Richard. I don't doubt for a moment that Corpse Candles will be in the anthology. :)

I'm glad you liked Magic Beans and my haiku collection. Thanks for the plug, by the way. LOL

Best of luck to you!

- Thirdy
