My story "Camp," is in the newest issue of Chiaroscuro Magazine. I've been trying to get a story in ChiZine for years, so this is a dream come true.

If you enjoy dark and disturbing tales, I'd be honored if you checked out the story.

Thanks so much.

Sincerely,
Jeremy C. Shipp

Congrats! Sounds like a great market. This is the first time I've even heard of Chiaroscuro Magazine. Don't know how I missed the boat on that one. :)

Christopher,
Chiaroscuro is top flight! Prestigous, in the horror field. Really something to shoot for. I've had half a dozen rejections, all quick.

I don't really write horror, maybe that's why it escaped me. I do have one tale that is set on Azieran that is horror (Cthuluesque) and I made no mention of place names and kept the sword and sorcery to a minimum, so I may send that over but I think I have it subbed somewhere now...

That was...disturbing. Congratulations. :-)

I love the first three paragraphs, by the way. Great opening.

I'll note here for others that Chizine is an SFWA listed pro market. A very good sale indeed.

Jeremy, I read it yesterday and agree with other assessments on this thread: very well-written and very, very disturbing. I was thoroughly engrossed, didn't notice the pages zipping by. I can see why _ChiZine_ published it.
