w00t!
Got an e-mail from Bill Snodgrass from Sword Review last night--- in a fit of temporary madness he bought my story "Voice of the Spoiler"---
maybe this fiction writing thing will work out for me.
Of course, this means I must come up with more product---
Seriously, I cannot believe what a rush this is--- I have sold over 300 non-fiction pieces over the last 30+ years, and was a reporter for a while, for 3 years had a syndicated film column--- plus I write political stuff under a different name, and as I am employed in academia, I write for my work as well, so I have seen my byline enough times that it shouldn't be anything big.
But last year I decided that it was time to be writing fiction again. So I ground out a few things to get my chops back, and in May started submitting.
This sale takes me back to the thrill I had in my early teens, when I would go to the post box every day, hoping for a sale, and every time I got an acceptance, it was like springtime, puppies and true love.
Thanks Bill--- when my 13 volume memoirs hit the best seller list in the year 2031, your name will be immortalized!

Congratulations! With any luck, you won't have to wait for the next millenium for the next sale [:p]

Seriously though, that is great news.
