Just got the great news that my Freehold short story "Corpsepaint" will be in Issue 25 of Sword's Edge.

The story ties in nicely with the second Freehold trilogy, "Ghourlesh", which is currently being written.

Thank you, thank you... this was actually the first Freehold story that I pulled from the old files and rewrote, and it sparked the creativity to jump into the Ghourlesh novella that is being finished up right now.

Can't believe I missed this!

Congrats, Armand. Corpsepaint was my favorite. Very cool, nice vindication of the effort you've been putting forward on this big scope project.

Congrats!

Tarantino himself has been forward and unapologetic about his influences. In a 1994 interview with Empire magazine, he said, "I steal from every single movie ever made. If people don't like that, then tough tills, don't go and see it, all right? I steal from everything. Great artists steal, they don't do homages."

Nathan,

Thanks for the kind word... yeah, Corpsepaint is sort of the Freehold baby, as it was the very first short story that I completed to shop, but got caught up in writing the novellas and other short stories that I didn't send it out right away.
