Cool! Good luck, Aurelio. Now the question is, do you fantasize about it being made into a movie, or about the options being renewed for several years and then being made into a movie. :-)

Probablly the biggest "Brag" I've seen yet to date on the Brag thread!
Big congrats out to you.

Let us know how the situation unfolds as I doubt I'm the only here who finds that kind of stuff fascinating.

Thanks, everyone. Yeah, I'm kinda flying, although this is Hollywood we're talking about, so it might turn out to be all smoke and mirrors. I already know where they blow the smoke, and the mirrors are liable to hurt. We shall see, and I'll keep you posted.

LOL - beggars can't be choosers, any or all of the above would suit me.

You know, the nice thing about writing the book is, even if they screw up the movie, my vision is still intact, it won't change the book. That's a nice security blanket.

The one good thing about Hollywood is that even if it is smoke and mirrors, and nothing comes of it, you still might get paid. :-)

Aurelio,
Great news and good luck! Hollywood is a strange place where talk rather than work, seems to be used to fill time. But they do make movies, eventually. And often the checks clear even when they don't. Keep your hopes high and expectations moderate. Best of Luck with it.
Mike

Actually, the really nice thing about this is, when shopping for an agent or a larger publishing house, "and my novel, Eve, the movie rights to which were optioned by Jonathan Mostow" just slips so nicely into that cover letter...

Wow, big congrats!!!

'But the highlight of this story is in the imagery, presented in such a visual manner that we get a clear view of this world we're reading about, which if it were adapted for film would be pure eye-candy."

EVE... the Movie!

Oh, my. Where to start...

Several months ago, I got a short email from a young woman asking about the film rights to EVE: who owns them, who to contact, etc. I Googled her name and actually found some info on her. She was a film student who had worked on a festival pic. So, while I was flattered at her interest, I didn't expect much would come of it.

Well, to make a long story short, she was a film student. Now she's an assistant to Jonathan Mostow, director of Terminator 3 and U-571. Mr. Mostow called me. He wants my book.

Now the deal is going back and forth between lawyers. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that it progresses well and EVE actually gets made. Wouldn't that be a hoot?!

And if you haven't had a chance to read EVE yet (and you believe the book is usually better than the movie) then what are you waiting for?!

Sign me giddy,

Aurelio

WOW!  Now that's great PR that money just can't buy!  (Well, not for less than 10 mill anyway!)
Just don't expect them to be kind to your work.  Take their check and the great noteriety that goes with it, and let them ravage the story anyway they please, you can cry all the way to the bank.
Hollywood usually butchers stories that it buys so just expect it.  You might not want to even see the movie when it comes out but it will sell thousands and thousands of copies of your real work so any sort of a movie is a JATO rocket hooked onto your name.

Congtatulations!  You might just get drop-kicked to the big time!  Good work.
