Does anyone have a printed product from ComixPress? I am considering using them for a few projects, since their production costs are very attractive. However, not having held a finished product in my hand I thought I would ask around first before I spent a few bucks.

Better yet, does anyone have any publishing experience with them? How long did it take from file transfer to finished product? Were they reliable? Etc, etc...

Thanks.

Just giving this a little bump.

I figure no replies means no experience, so I'm going to order a few books and see what's what. I'll let you know shortly what I find out.

Rob,

Sorry, I just noticed this thread. I have been considering using them for several projects myself. I know a guy that has used them before(still does). Here's what he had to say about them:

"Comixpress has been really good... until recently. They've been having problems with their equipment for the last month and I've been waiting on a lot of books for a long time. Same with customer service. Good at first, but now it takes forever to get a partial response. This could all be temporary but I'm not super-happy at the moment.

I also haven't got a response about sales reports which are supposed to be quarterly. I don't want to be too negative but them's the facts."

Their website has just recently said that their printer is back up and functioning properly so this problem may be fixed. Personally, I will probably give them a try and get a proof copy. If that turns out fine, I will give them a try with printing. I'll let you know how it goes, but, bear in mind I won't be ready to print until about April or so. I don't know how soon you were looking to do your own printing there.

Poe Little Thing used them--I got a copy of that (did the last cover). It was overall quality, but the bleed of the cover was maybe a bit dark (may not have been the printer), and the offset wasn't quite _cut_ right. there was non-square border whiteness. Still, a very cute booklet.
