I came up with the idea of this one last night, while suffering a bit of insomnia.  I had the first two lines pretty well done, but couldn't figure out exactly what to say in the third.  I thought of putting "stalking phantom", "stalking beast", "stalking fen beast", or "stalking marsh beast".  None of these seemed specific enough, so after I did a little research today, I discovered that kelpies were often described as having rushes clinging to their hair.  Running with that idea, I used "lochside rushes" and "stalking kelpie".

 

I hope this one avoids some of the repetition seen in other similar, short-form speculative poetry.  However, I'm not going to label it.  It just is what it is.
