The hardest part of this entire job is seeing people say they've ordered the issue and knowing it's still going to be another couple weeks before anyone starts posting feedback :( Oh well. *resumes pacing* Looking forward to what you guys think after you finally get a chance to read the issue.

My mailing tubes got here today too, so I have something to send out posters with now, if people actually follow instructions and want one.

Kelly...I won't even get a copy of the Summer Special for at least another three weeks...that's how long it took Lulu to send the FS mags I bought.
Unusual it took so long. USA to Oz is normally 10 days at the most. Quite often 5.

And the free download you sent has very tiny writing and I've been unable to make it bigger?
Unless I'm missing something there?
I'm not going to print it out, rather wait for the hard copies.

My copy has just (literally) arrived. Looks good, although there is slight clipping on the title. The top part of the F & S have been cut off and the 8 from 2008 hasn't quite made it. Still, the most imortant thing about the cover is that it has my name on it. smilewinkgrin rolleyes

I'm looking forward to reading the other stories.

I noticed the clipping at the right side of the book as well, but its no biggie.  I thought the cover turned out better than I expected.

The only part that's clipped on mine is a tiny bit of the '8' in '2008'.  If it wasn't right by my name, I might not have noticed it.  :-)

I was just informed yesterday it was shipped. Probably won't get it 'til next Friday.

The clipping isn't gong to be the same on everyone's because it's specific to how the trimming was done. I'll make a point of moving the text in farther from the edges on the next issue.

I got mine today! Took just over a week, which is pretty good going with the Atlantic in the way.

Looks great.

Got mine a few days ago, the handsomest Flashing Swords yet to be sure. Need to block out some time to dig in.

Arrived today. smile

The ish looks good. The "8" is narrowly clipped.

I'm looking forward to reading it, but will have to wait 'til I finish Douglas Adams' Mostly Harmless.

Got mine and I like the look of the font. It had a hint of old weird tales to it. I may have just imagined it but that is what popped into my mind. Funny how little things do that. Keep up the good work.

Haven't ordered the paper yet, got an e-version.  I was a little dubious of the Cap'n Jethro story because of the long title but found it quite clever.    Nice!

I saw my first copy in Cross Plains, Texas this last week and it looked very cool. I will be reading the stories soon.

Last night I read Elements by R.F. Long. Loved it. Great story and nice to see an Arthurian tale that owes more to the Mabinogion than French Romance.

Speaking of the Mabinogion, I put a copy of it in print if anyone wants it. Here's the page:

I've finished reading the Summer Special. As usual it was very enjoyable and packed full of good stories. My personal favourites were Elements: by R.F. Long, Prince Victor: by Edward McDermott, and Steel in the Morning: by D.J. Cockburn all three of which I thought were superb. I'm also enjoying Silent Dirge the Novella by Jared Evers which I've just started. Good stuff.

You're welcome. I really enjoyed it. Do you have any more stories (published or planned) about Sataurnos & Co?

Actually, I do have a couple of books planned.  Right now I'm working on a sort of prequel about their time during the war.  I don't have any other novellas or shorts with them at the moment, though it's something to consider.  There's a lot of story in that world.  :-)

It never hurts to have a good writer's opinion. I do have a rough draft of a chapter or two, so I just may take you up on your offer!
