Packed with stories, illustrations, goodies, a full novella AND a free poster by Johnney Perkins.

Everything you could possibly want, and enough reading material to keep you happy for quite a while!

Where is it, you ask?

Why... right there on our home page. Right next to Flashing Swords #10.

What's the link, you ask?

Glad to be of assistance. The link is flashingswords.sfreader.com

And I decided to be nice to you all. I wasn't going to put any of it on line but... if you're sneaky and scroll down the page some, you'll find a link... a special, secret link.

Shhhhh..... don't tell anyone.

I've advertised (again) the Summer Special, issue #10 and ROTS at the huge sci-fi website Chronicles.
Thousands of visitors a day.
Fingers crossed.

Chronicles claims to be the biggest online Sci-fi and fanatsy website in the world.

It would be a good thing if a few of you were to go over to Chrons and post up your thoughts and opinions on the FS magazines and novels.

The thread I started is NOT the place to mention what a great story you yourself wrote...those kind of posts go in the Press release section.

Cheers: Jaq

They're fussy at Chronicles...

Hidy, Jaqhama -

Glad you're enjoying Chronicles!  I've moved a few of your threads that had been under the SFF News category to the Press Releases section, as they were more suited to that board.  Promotional threads for new materials are typically posted in Press Releases.  The SFF News section is typically reserved for general news items.

Funny...I would have thought that the SFF news section was for SFF news?
I must think on this.yeah

I will say that I don't see a lot of the forum members visiting the press release section compared to the SFF news section.
So if 10,000 Chrons readers don't see the blurb I put up for FS and ROTS you guys and gals will know why.
I ain't going to say nothing about modding for the sake of it. I do realise the world would have ended if the guy hadn't moved my post. skull

(Oh this just gets better...
Be real careful if you decide to post something on Chrons you might want to edit or even delete later...because you cannot edit or delete after a 30 minute time spam.
No honest..it's in their forum rules and was confirmed by their Admin/Owner.)

Guess you need to write them and ask for clarification on the difference, because you didn't intend them to be press releases and you'd like them to be in the sf news thread. Then ask what you need to do to change them so they fit where you intended them.

Just got my copy, and it looks fantastic!  It arrived in great shape, first off.  Nice covers, sturdy binding, and I like the layout.  And that's just the presentation, all before getting to the actual stories.  CW, you and your team need to take a bow.  :-)

Been there, done that.
The mod who moved my post didn't even bother to respond when I sent a message back.
I had aslo posted up a couple of links to the free Deadstock and Hal Spacejock novel downloads...appareantly that's not SFF news either...that's also a press release.
A thread people started about not being able to edit or delete your own stuff was responded to thus...if people were allowed the option to modify or delete their posts chaos would ensure and the forum would quickly fall to pieces. (That's a condensed version of what a mod wrote there)

Another of their mods tried telling me that not being able to edit or delete is the norm on most forums.eyes

I think I'm finished with posting at Chrons...places where the mods jump on the slightest thing they see as 'wrong' are never cool places to hang out.

Big Brother is alive and well and hanging out at Chrons.scool

I deleted my account at Chrons.

A forum where you have mods moving stuff around simply for the sake of it and not allowing forum memebrs the choice of editing and/or deleting their posts isn't somewhere I want to spend time.
I'm too used to the motorcycle forums I'm on, where everyone is treated as an adult in respect to the above.

Much like here actually. Are you sure we should be able to edit our own posts ???
I mean really...who knows where it might lead?

No.

I won't use this thread to tell you guys anymore of my advertisding FS adventures, but am now having a blurb translated into Swedish...because most Swedes read english as well as their native langauage apparently. And they love their sci-fi.

Start a new thread in this forum, if you would, for the advertising stuff you're doing and I'll sticky it. Then you can update it and maybe inspire other people to get involved.
