Well, it is a story about a female warrior, Dossouye, not Imaro, but it was the only writing of Saunders that I currently own, so I read this story last night (in the Amazons! anthology)

I was not disappointed. This was a fun read. The African influence on the tale really makes it stand out from the norm.

If Conan the Destroyer hadn't been such a mediocre movie, they could have used Grace Jones in a Dossouye movie. Dossouye is physically described quite close to Zula. One wonders if Roy Thomas or Gerry Conway had read this story before they worked on the screenplay.

Now, in addition to hunting down Imaro, I need to hunt down more stories about Dossouye!

Nightshade books is collecting all of the Imaro stories to print next year--you should pop by the forum and see if that includes all the stories set in the world or just the ones featuring Imaro. I'd like to know myself!

Saunders also has a non-Imaro fantasy story called "Gimmile's Song" in the collection DARK MATTER.

Uraeus, this is the wrong forum.

You need to post that in the Brag forum and in the shameless self promotion forum.

And then you need to add a reply to the published authors thread.

And you also need to do something about the images that aren't showing up in your post. I assume those were supposed to be animated smilies?

Sword and Soul?  Is there a history behind this category?  I saw a couple of books tagged with that.

My humble aopologizes for the mis-post, I just thought this was a good place because folk were inquiring about Dossouye and where they could find her.

No apology needed. You want to post announcements like that when the most people are going to see them. There's a small number that read this forum. There's a much larger number that read the brag and shamless self promotion forums and you need to have a spot in the published author's thread so it's easy for people to find you.
