You said "Look at the guidelines" I said "I did, it ain't there." But I checked again, just in case, both here in the forums AND on the zine site. I see originals, I see reprints, and I see stuff send to you and somewhere else SIMULTANEOUSLY. I do NOT see anything about sending you MORE than one story at a time.
So I asked ya about it, you said it was cool to send as many as ya want, so long as you don't mind them being tied up for the duration of the reading period. I can dig it.
Now, for the sake of argument, lets say an author has 2 stories that have been written, edited, re-written, re-edited, proof-read, spit-n-polished, spell-checked, and edited again. Both these stories are (for the sake of this argument) as good as they are going to get. Now let's say that story A is just a BETTER story than story B. Now if that author sends them both to the same magazine during two different submission windows, then they may both be accepted by the mag, but for two seperate issues. BUT if he sends them both at the same time, then story A would beat out story B. Which is great, because the author's getting published. But it's bad, because many mags do NOT want you to re-submit a story that they already rejected once, unless they tell ya to do it.
That, at least, is the gist of the 'advice' I was referring to. I did not see that on your guidelines, but I HAVE seen in on more than one mag's guidelines page. Hence my dilemma. Besides, it gives me something to worry about. :)
And, sorry, but no I probably will stick to the e-version. I print my own so I can read it when I should be going to sleep. :) | | Back to Top

Whereas I only have 2 stories I wanna send, and I've NEVER seen 2 stories in 1 ish by the same guy (unless someone's using a pen name). Both of my stories were written with FS in mind, and I think I've figured out which one to send first. I guess I'll just try and wait till the next window for the other one. Yeah, some mags do that, too, from what I hear. Again, I don't know if CW works that way (probably does). BUT as a complete unknown with NO credits under my name, I dunno just how daring I should be.
...And, uh, I dunno if my 2 stories are as spit-n-polished as they can possibly get or not. ...I was just in an argumentative mood. :) (<--see? ashamed of myself and everything)
I would, of course, like to think that they are. | | Back to Top

You're welcome to send in multiple-submissions, Tim. But as you pointed it, it might be more advantageous if you only sent in one story per issue.
