I'm late to the conversation, but have been impressed with your project and progress. Congrats - keep up the great work and nice cover to your (first) anthology!

Way late to this - happens when my presence here is lessened by much of the same thing Rob is experiencing.

Love your frankness, Rob; absolutely love the cover for the next antho (hints of insanity there?). Must ponder what is happening though, as I'm in the midst of an anthology. Would you mind PMing/emailing me with any particulars?

Oh!  When is that Ricasso Press website coming?  Even a WordPress blog of some sorts would work . . . . not to add to the work load at all . . .  ;-)

I like that cover, Rob. Eye-catching, intriguing.

And I might, just possibly, perhaps, maybe, have some action stories involving swordplay on hand to submit ...

Jason, I've actually got the website 99.9% done. Believe it or not, the homepage is alive and kicking. Right now it's just got "coming soon!" in big red letters at the top, but all the other pages are complete and waiting for me to have books in hand.

Coincidentally I'm finishing a nice little fantasy which might just fit... Can't wait to see the guidelines.

The official news is that everything is at print right now and out of my hands. I'm waiting the return of proofs (did I say waiting impatiently?). The "Taking longer than I thought" title gets more appropriate with every passing day.

Fear not. Announcements will be made from several rooftops and at full volume.

Me too. The long and the short of it is, I'm having issues most likely related to an obsessive need to limit my mistakes to two or less. I should really just say to hell with it and get what I have out there, but it seems stupid to do it half-assed (either perfect or all-assed, I say).

Apologies for the very long delay. I'd really like to have my first projects out the door before I ask for subs for another. Damn, though, I want to see what you all have waiting to send to me for Through Blood and Iron.

Rob,

We're all anxious to get those horses out of the starting gate, BUT I got a book recently and I should have spent more time proofreading the stories...

Rob,

As a suggested fix, send it to someone to do a final proof on, and when they send it back just accept their changes and send it to the printer.

I made a list of typos and broken lines when I went through my story collection, and tonight I typed them up in hopes that the editor could fix them for the next time. I wish I'd caught those typos sooner, BUT someone said that you can edit forever, and I know that's true.

I'm in the camp of waiting. I'd rather buy and have a phenomenal book than a fast one.

Btw, I mentioned the upcoming Magistria anthologies in the May/June issue of Working Writer--at the end of my article.

I wore my Magistria tee shirt to the Oasis SF con recently.  Btw, I'm about to post publication news in my blog.  Is it too soon to mention the Magistria anthologies?

Hi Rob.  Just looking for an update.  Is your anthology still going to happen?  Be a shame if you couldn't swing the publication after all the work you've already put into it, but I understand the pitfalls of single-player publishing.  Hope all is well.

Joy and Jerry, thanks for the continuing interest. I've lost hope with the publisher I'm working with, a local guy who was willing to do stuff for me at the right price, the right timeline, the right everything. It's not looking like it's happening, and I will spend tomorrow putting files together for another publisher. I'll have more info shortly.
