I read the message below at the Flashing Swords forum

Anyone needing to reach me as CFO of Pitch-Black LLC will need to email me at davidpitchford@daybreakpoetry.com instead of any pitchblackbooks.com account as these have all been closed while pitchblackbooks.com migrates to a different server. Once the server change is complete, the site address for pitchblackbooks.com and lordsofswords.com will default to redirect status, redirecting to www.swordandsorcery.org

Thank you.

James-

From what I gather, swordandsorcery.org/Flashing Swords is on indefinite hiatus but will be revived. Here's part of a note from Daniel Blackston in the "Pitch-Black ceasing all operations" thread.

"Flashing Swords E-zine will remain online but on hiatus. Submissions will not be accepted until further notice. All pending submissions including those previously accepted or under contract are deemed returned to the authors."

This is just my understanding, though. You can probably search through some other threads or send a note to Mr. Blackston for more information.

Hope that helps. By the way, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your stories. Keep up the good work.

Hi Nik--

Thanks for the response, and the kind words.

My understanding is that swordandsorcery.org is a slightly different cat than Pitch-Black or Flashing Swords... but you may well be right; it's been very quiet here since the end of last year.

It will come around again, with any luck. I'm hoping so anyway.

Hello Everyone:

When I created www.swordandsorcery.org and set up Flashing Swords the intent was to make them two related but SEPARATE entities. They remain so. Anything that takes place with Pitch-Black and Flashing Swords shouldn't affect www.swordandsorcery.org. I understand now that having them so closely intertwined is confusing, and had I the chance to do it over, I'd have kept them almost completely separate.

Due to events there at Pitch-Black it seems clear that I really need to get the non-fiction, reference content generated for www.swordandsorcery.org off to its own site. I've been meaning to do so for some time and have not yet had the chance -- I am setting that up today.

Any slow down with postings to www.swordandsorcery.org has had nothing to do with recent events at Pitch-Black and everything to do with the redoubtable Paul McNamee and Andy Beau being busy with other matters and me being almost completely absent and buried in Black Gate duties. The three of us and others are firmly committed to the continued existence of the reference material located at www.swordandsorcery.org. It will shortly find a new home, and we will update you here when it does.

Best wishes,
Howard

Sorry - looks like I only added to the confusion. This latest post definitely clears things up, though.

Howard: thanks! I should have written to you directly, I guess, but I didn't want to add to your workload. Now I guess I have anyway...

It's good to know that swordandsorcery will go slashing on.

Sounds good, some nice articles there.

The Flashing Swords is what, a look at independent type fiction in that genre?
