I'm looking for the name of an artist who did a fantasy painting, I believe it was for a product related to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons back in the late 1980s.

The painting was of a female archer standing in snow. Towering over her is an undead creature in armor, the monster's eyes glowing and several of the archer's arrows protruding from it. I seem to remember the undead thing waving an axe.

I don't think the artist was Elmore, but that's who's coming to mind. Any ideas?

I think the artist you are looking for is Daniel R Horne, I'll see if I can find the picture and link it.

Is this it?

Hmp. There's no image on the page when I open it, but I'm at work now. I'll try to look again when I get home late tonight.
Thanks, though.

One of my favorite pieces of fantasy art. Simple and realistic without a lot of the garrish, flashy elements common to genre artwork. Not that garrish and flashy is always bad ... just not my preferred style.

Dan Horne has done some awesome work. Thinking about the good ol' days made me remember another piece of artwork that will stay etched in my mind forever. It was not done by Horne nor was it for a sci-fi or fantasy product. It was the Rumpleman's girl decked out in gleaming armor, sword in hand, riding a polar bear through a snowy setting. As a pre-pubescent boy and a D&D geek it touched me in more ways than one. devil

One of my favorites too. I knew exactly what it was before I had finished reading your description.
On a side note, did you ever notice the monster from the picture is Gustavo's avatar?
