As you may or may not know, I habitually write non SF poetry and have had some successes in publishing my work.
I have recently been working at a pretty rapid rate and am trying to steer my work in a new direction.
I've reached the point where I could really use some feedback from objective readers -- that is, folks who may or may not have a deep interest in poetry -- and especially from folks who aren't necesarily familiar with my poetry.
So, if any of you would be kind enough to volunteer to read a couple poems and send back your thoughts, I would be very grateful.
I'm not looking purely for deep criticism or scholarly explication, mind you (tho if this is something you are good at, by all means...), just comments on overall impression/feelings -- what seemed to work and what didn't -- and I have a very thick skin when it comes to poetry.
No deadline on comments, no rules, no pressure.

| Posted 2/10/2006 1:06 PM (GMT -4) | | I just wanted to post up a big THANKS to those who have offered feedback on my poems. So far, the comments I have received have been quite helpful.
The poems I sent out have received, by and large, a mixed response, with most of the comments pointing to lapses in clarity and/or thematic unity, very important things for any writer, poet or otherwise, to keep in mind.
So, again, my sincere thanks to those of you who volunteered to lend a hand -- I feel you have saved me considerable time and struggle in my quest to steer my poetry toward a more effective idiom.
To those who have not yet responded, I eagerly await your comments.
