Yesterday I bought Let the Galaxy Burn. It's an anthology. I didn't realize it until I saw it in the store--it is huge. It is the size of an omnibus and features thirty-eight (count 'em!) stories.
I'll be a-while with that one, too.
I've liked my Warhammer and Warhammer 40K reads so far. A few were 'functional'--readable but not special. But some have really stood out (Xenos, Trollslayer.)
Definitely a line worth giving a try if you like dark, gritty fantasy and/or dark, gritty space opera. -- Paul McNamee

In particular, the stories by Jack Yeovil (aka Kim Newman) are good: Drachenfels and Beasts in Velvet are both very entertaining. They now come collected as The Vampire Genevieve along with various other short stories. | | Back to Top | | |
