For some reason it was a killer to fit their requirements, They seem to be looking for a very narrow kind of southern Gothic/humorous story...
well now I can finally do something else with my life.

I didn't see anything along the humor side for their guidelines. According to posts in their forum it seems like they're looking for good old fashioned horror, just set in a shared world of a Tennessee town.

Yup, I sent them a piece. In fact, Harvest Hill is the market I refer to in my latest article for SFReader about inspired writing. The only downside to my sub is (I hope) how the ending provides a whammy that makes what could be considered a stock story concept approachable. I feel if the editors get all the way to the final chapters they'll see something different; if they don't, it will be just another zombie story (not that there's anything wrong with zombie stories, but I didn't try to separate this one from the herd, if you catch my drift).

What's great about Harvest Hill's guidelines is how if my piece doesn't sell there it is available for other markets. All too often I'll write something for a themed project that can't go anywhere else because of its limitations. Novella-length superhero fiction springs to mind. :-)

I sent mine about six weeks ago.  I'm not sure mine's horror-y enough for them, but I think it's a pretty good story so I expect I'll sell it somewhere.  It would be nice to get into this antho, though.

I think they posted something about humor in their forums or in the interview they gave a while back...anyhow now that the deadline is up I'm bitting my nails as well...it's going to be a tough market
