Got a rejection of course, but they noted they really liked my style and to keep submitting, so that was nice. The rejection was quite awhile ago, so don't take that as a sign they are active at the moment (I have no idea).
Edit: I shouldn't say "trunk story", more like a B list story. Christopher M. Heath

I sent an e-mail withdrawing my story recently and got a reply to that one in which they acknowledge my withdrawal. I'm not sure what's going on with this market but that's the bit of info I have to share. | | Back to Top | | |

Jordan Lapp said... Might be another Noctem Aeternus. I hope not, but at this point it's difficult to discern their profit model.
Duotrope reports the last response received on 16 December.
Apparently 25% of their submissions have been withdrawn by the author with another 12.5% being "assumed rejections" (ie no word received). Those are pretty rough numbers.
I also submitted a story Dec. 1. got an acknowledment Dec. 2 promising an anwer within 5 weeks, then nothing, including no response to a query.
I'd call them another Sniplets.
As Jordan says, those are rough numbers.

What happened with Sniplets? I've heard of folks having their stories accepted by them, and Duo shows their most recent activity at March 25th, 2008.

I haven't quite grown impatient enough to withdraw yet. Every time I try to download the first issue, Acrobat gives me an error message and it can't display the document, so maybe I should take that as a sign that it's time to move onto a market where I can actually read the material they're publishing. www.tlmorganfield.com The Feathered Serpent's Nest (Blog)
