Does anybody know what happened to 1018 Press? I checked the website for announcements and found the domain was no longer in use. The Black Sails anthology is still available from Lulu, but that’s it. The last announcement said they were planning to re-assess priorities.

It looks like 1018 has called it quits, except Balck Sails is still for sale. I just wanted to check to see if anybody had other info.

They mentioned on their blog that one of them had gotten sick, but that they were better now and going to retool. It sucks that they've gone down. I really feel badly for them. It's tough when someone gets sick like that.

I still haven't gotten my contributor's copy of Black Sails, but maybe I'll just buy it from Lulu to help them out.

Here is the text of their last blog post (Found it in my reader)

Fall back and regroup.VIEW IMAGE

1018 Press has always been a two-person operation, so when one (or both) of those two people falls behind, there's no one else to pick up the slack. We've had a couple of problems in this area over the last few months -- oversized workload, surgery, printer trouble, etc. -- and it's put us terribly behind. As a result, we've decided to take a step back, reprioritize, retool and then begin afresh. The down side is that as of this moment, we're taking no new submissions. The up side is that we can now spend the next few months catching up with everything we have, relaunching the online store and more. As always, we thank you for your patience, and we hope you'll find our eventual releases worth the wait.

EDIT: None of those links work...

You didn’t get your contributor’s copy? I got mine around the end of August, so at least one was sent. I hope they'll get the others out.

I guess they’ll either come back or they won’t.

Oh well.

I'm in Canada, so maybe the Yak delivering the mail had to be milked or something. Hopefully I get it soon.
