As you may know, we have launched Ray Gun Revival, a free online e-zine devoted to space opera and golden age sci-fi. We publish fresh, original content every two weeks, on the 1st and the 15th. More on that in a moment.
We have some cool stuff this issue, including "Galaxy Store", by Scott Sandridge, "Rest Area", by Tim Baer, "The Assassin of Patience Bay, Part One", by moi, a new featured artist, Erika Green, aka archaenon, and Memory Wipe Chapter One, "The Silver Sun", by Sean T. M. Stiennon (which features original art by E. J. Mickels, II (aka Hisart). All that great space opera for the low-low price of absolutely nothing! (Of course, if you like the idea of paying the authors better, feel free to drop us a donation or here: http://www.doubleedgedpublishing.com/support.html 100% of donated funds go back to the authors. We currently pay $10 per story, and would love to get that up to premium rates to attract premium talent and premium stories. Thanks in advance!)
The issue also features an announcement for next week about a brand new feature, alternating Ray Gun Revival podcasts in between the weeks when we publish the printed mag. Therefore, we publish the e-zine on the 1st and 15th and the Ray Gun Revival podcast on the alternating dates. Taylor Kent is heading this up, and it looks like it will be a lot of fun. Check out the Jolly RGR column on the last page for more specifics. We also have a surprise announcer in store, but I'll save that surprise for next time. The rich tradition of stellar cover art continues at Ray Gun Revival. As everyone knows, Primitive Art looks like art that is done by a child. Usually the picture is painted very simply, and the subjects are "flat", or two-dimensional. In a bold move by new artist M. S. Paynt, our cover for the April 1st issue mines this classic and venerable artistic style.
