About 19 years ago I read a book with short stories in it, and I'd like to find out which book it was.

One story in particular has stuck in my mind. It's about a man who makes the universe exist with his mind. He finds this out somehow and for some reason (I can't really remember why, this is why I want to find the book again) he makes the universe shrink until all that's left is what he can see.

I'm not sure if this is my imagination, but when thinking of the story I seem to recall that the title of the book it was in had the words 'Space Opera' in it, or maybe it was in the subtitle.

It's not a lot to go on but I hope this sounds familiar to somebody who can point me in the right direction!

Thanks,
Mac

Doesn't sound familiar Mac, but I'm stealing that idea. There's a certain flash fiction site I've got targeted for it. :-) Good luck in your quest.

Sound a little like Eric Frank Russell's story 'Sole Solution' which was in the Penguin Science Fiction Omnibus edited by Brian Aldiss. (The updated edition of which came out last year and is well worth getting).
