The biggest SFF forum is Chronicles, based in the UK. But beware you cannot alter or delete posts after about 15 minutes. Which is why I don't go there any more.
Heavily moderated also. I don't care for that much either.

Type sci-fi forums into a search engine and you'll get heaps of forums to post reviews in.

I've gotta say...I read tons of stuff on forums...but almost no blog sites.
I think that's true for a lot of people.

To many blog sites are just individuals waffling on about what they do or don't like.
Forums are a whole bunch of people waffling on...so you get a better idea about something, because you get more than one persons point of view.

The question came up between myself and another forum member today...why aren't more people here who read and write S&S and heroic adventure registered on the REH forum?

It's THE number one place where all things relating to sword and sorcery can be discussed under the general discussion arts thread.

I'm really surprised that more of you guys and gals aren't posting and reading over there every day.

Hey, thanks for the tip on The Green Man Review. I hadn't come across that one yet - I'll submit In Her Name there. :D

But since you're in the know, do they review everything they receive, or should I query first to see if there's interest? I don't mind the waiting part, but it seems like a lot of places nowadays like to check out a sample first before they ask for a copy (and I hate killing trees unnecessarily)...

I'm a reviewer for The Green Man Review.  The editors are always open to review auditions (though don't be hurt if they don't take you on staff--they get a lot of auditions and are kind of particular).  We have readership stats of about half-a-million unique visitors each month from around the world, and get far, FAR more review material than the staff can handle.  We get a lot of support from such industry greats as Ellen Datlow, Emma Bull, and Peter S. Beagle.  Witers such as Kage Baker, Elizabeth Hand and Will Shetterly are on review staff.

There's no pay other than genre love, huge potential readership, and as many free S&SF books as you can write reviews for (and music -- we ALWAYS need CD reviewers! And occasionally concert tickets, DVDs, and action figures.  That's right: action figures.)

We specialize in F & SF of all stripes.

Howdy, all.

I am going to get more serious about my reviews and helping to promote books that I care about, like Return of the Sword and Lords of Justice.

Please help by suggesting sites where reviews and other kinds of book promotion would be welcome. Here's what we have so far:

SF Reader, of course
Amazon.com reviews
Shelfari
Blogs, Live Journal, etc.
MySpace
dragonpage.com

Any other suggestions? I want to use this thread as a resource for all our authors and editors to use in promoting their works.
