We will be there in mid-February. We plan to fly into Zurich and then stay in Kandersteg. What are travel conditions like in that area at that time of year? Can we rent a car and get around or is the weather too bad? Should we stick to rail and bus?
Any travel advice for Switzerland is appreciated. This is our first trip to Europe, so I'm a little uneasy about it.

However, if I were you, I'd get a Eurorail pass. You will be amazed at how good the train system is over there. My wife and I took the train from Amsterdam to Lucerne several years ago. Trouble free, comfortable and good food. It all depends on how extensively you want to travel. IF you are going to stay in a small area of the country, rather than roaming around a lot, a car would probably be better. But try to reserve the car from here. It gets to confusing over there with the exchange rate. Have a blast. I envy you. | | Back to Top | | |
