Hi guys,
at the bottom of my sig. I have tried to put a link to my novel's listing on amazon.co.uk. As you can see, I've made a dog's dinner of it. Does anybody know how I might fix it?

What I did for my links was to use this code:

[*url=link address]Link text[*/url] - just without the stars.

It hides the ugly url and just leaves the clean text. Hope it works for you. :-)

Cool tip about hiding the link. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Of couse the downside is that by hiding the link, it looks cleaner but then people don't know what the site it. They may want to visit it later but if they don't know the URL they can't type it in themselves. Of course, if the URL is ugly, like the one Peadar wanted to post, then it makes complete sense.

If you have a really long link, you can always make it shorter with tinyurl.com

Tinyurl is especially useful when fighting character restrictions (like in signatures for some boards). However, tinyurl urls are usually a jumble of numbers and letters and don't really lend themselves to memorizing.

but you don't need to memorize it. you can always go back to tinyrul and recreate it anytime you need to.
