at least it proved she (or someone) read it. Much better than getting one back with seed shells and white splotches between the pages.

I got a manuscript back one time from MZB with brownie crumbs between the pages.

ROFL! well you know whoever read it was enjoying the experience while reading it, at least ;)

It had MZB's notes on it, so the story got past.... hmmm, who was her slush reader in those days? Elisabeth Waters? early to mid 90's?

 ~WHOA~! Stop the presses! ~
How did I miss this?  How long has this been common knowledge?  I know you mentioned a secret intro (on your blog or here or somewhere, darn it, I know I read it!) but just this moment is the first time I SAW it!

Wow!  Nice going.  Deeply impressed.  What's that?  Do I sense an ARC winging its way to me now?  Why, I simply do not know. smilewinkgrin

Looks like ARC's will be very late, but there will be PDF's, I think, in a couple of weeks. The actual bound ARCs may have very little A in them:)

Well, with so much crap abounding these days, I can understand if Moorcock chases people off his land with a shotgun.

Which begs the question, Michael: how did this thing come about?

Dang, that is impressive! Congratulations, Michael! Hope that it proves to be a big sales boost for you, and that said sales boost is only a bonus to the book's appeal to readers.

Dave, it came about through an unbelievable series of coincidences, the sort that if you read them in a story would cause you to snort with disbelief. In fact, I lived through them, and I sometimes snort in disbelief.

Mike, sorry to say I am not an every day reader of your blog (gasp, gasp, okay, enough already), but did you run through those strange events on it at all? If you ever do, seems that would be the place to do it.
