For several years Firefox has been the browser I used and I have not had to go back to IE. But recently I started having problems accessing the forum with firefox. I get an error message. However, I tried IE yesterday and I have no problems getting here, as you can see.

I use firefox exclusively and never have problems so I'm curious what the errors you are getting were. Sometimes the cache becomes corrupted, sometimes there are other problems which aren't easy to track down without the error message.

Do you remember what it was?

I just cleared the cache and it still comes up with the same error message.

does it happen at random, or only when trying to access specific places on the site? It sounds sorta like one of Dave's scripts is having a problem.

It does it consistently. Started about two weeks ago and so far nothing I have tried has fixed it. I asked another friend with firefox to try it and they could come to the forum without a hitch. I tried simply going to sfreader and then clicking through from the main page, but I get the same problem there.

Okay, some more questions.

It's letting you post, so I'm assuming that you're either getting a pop-up window with the errors, or you are seeing them on the page some where. What version of Firefox do you have, have you upgraded or added any plugins for it recently or upgraded firefox or java?

If you just click the reload icon instead of clicking a link, and reload the page, what happens?

I'm using IE to get to the forum. I still can't get on with firefox. whatever the problem is, it has to be related somehow to firefox. I removed all my plug-ins and stuff and tried again with firefox. But nothing I've tried has worked. Accessing the forums is currently the only thing I'm using IE for. I don't like IE, but it's the only thing that will let me get here.

Okay, would you be willing to take a bit more of a chainsaw to firefox? I still think something's corrupted some where.

Would you be willing to uninstall it and then run crap cleaner to clear out all the various temp files that windows drops all over the drive:

With crap cleaner, I check everything except cookies and autocomplete form history. I let it remove everything else.

then reinstall a new copy

and then try to access the forums?

I've also been using FF with no troubles for the past year. Just upgraded to FF2 last week and can still get here, but since then all my internet shortcuts on my desktop now come up with an error message BEFORE going to the actual site. I've no idea why it wouldn't let you get to the forum, though, Janrae. Even if you type the url in, it won't open up?

I get an error message also when clicking links. It says that windows can't find the url. I just downloaded ccleaner and i'm going to uninstall and run firefox now.

The internet shortcuts are a different issue. Mine broke too. I just stopped saving them and just add to bookmarks inside firefox.
