I recently turned in my Complete Compendium of Daverana to my publisher, Renebooks, who intend to offer it as a free download.

However, I had also gotten several requests for me to do a print version as well. So I got the idea of going over to lulu.com and setting the Compendium up there to be offered at cost.

At first I thought it would only come in around 50 pages and not be a problem. However, once assembled, the lexicon alone came in at over 80 single spaced pages.

Before I actually try to upload it to lulu.com, I was hoping that someone could tell me what the smallest readable font size is.

I probably will have some other questions later.

i wouldn't suggest going any smaller than 10. It might be possible but who would read it? Is there a reason for trying to keep it so short?

I guess I don't have to keep it that short. I had just wanted it to be accessible to the people who requested it.

I don't want a royalty on it. I just want people to have access to it that want it that way.

I suppose it makes more sense to do it right. Right now, it's 130 pages, single spaced and set for ebook format at 14 point. Which is how Jean likes for it to be turned in.

What size and type of font would you reccommend? It's New Times Roman right now.

On a side-note, do you have the rights to do this or did you sign them over to Runebooks?

ReneBooks usually buys ebook rights, not print. You'd have to check with Jean Marie Stine. If you don't want to make any $ from the book you can set the price so the profit is 0. A 130 page book would be about $7 or possibly less.

I had already checked with Renebooks on it. Since it was done as a promotional item only, they had no problem with my doing a print edition independantly.

So, go ahead and leave it set to 14 pt new times roman? Under $7 is still not bad for what is basically a promo item.

I did it! It was far easier than I expected it to be and I ordered a test copy that should be here in around 9 days.

And you were right about price, GW. It came in at $6.97.
