You know, one of the few things I ever wrote that was quoted back to me was "The only reason that baseball is not more important than life itself is that baseball already is life itself."
Sigh. Dogs with cheese and kraut, peanuts in the shell, and over-priced warm beer. The smell of fresh-cut grass, the sun on my cheeks, and the perfect intellectual joy of the infield shift. Click here to buy my book!

But lord, I wish we could get kraut in DC... | | Back to Top | | |

Usually, when I go to the ballpark I try to have a beer or two (or three) before the game, rather than pay such prices. If pregame imbibing isn't feasible, I content myself with having my beer after the game.
As I watched the Nats on TV, I was drinking Grimburgen -- a not-too-exspensive Belgian beer my wife nabbed at the grocery. It's pretty yummy, especially for the price. So, while I missed out on being in the park (Nice ballpark, by the way!), I console myself with knowing I got the better end of things on the beer side.
Do you have season tickets? Steve Goble
