Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Everest (in 1953), died yesterday. He should be honored as one of the last true adventurers and as a man who turned what had, until his ascent, been science fiction into everyday reality.
 
The world has just become a slightly less interesting place...

You're right mate.

Hilary was probably the last of the great explorer/adventurers.
Less well known is how much he truly helped the people of Nepal.

Until mankind finally (if ever) colonises other worlds or other dimensions we shall not see his like again.
