Eric T. Reynolds , editor of Hadley Rille Books,  posted on his LJ today that Richard Horton (editor of 2006 & 2007 Year's Best anthologies for Prime Books and writer of "book reviews and columns for the likes of Locus, Black Gate, and Fantasy Magazine") has written a review of a couple Hadley Rille anthos published at the end of 2007.  Sure, yes, he mentions my name specifically (and grants me a new middle initial -- J!  unexpected, but sweet and rather thrilling in an odd way!) but he also mentions in a complimentary light several SFR peeps, including (please please please forgive me if I've missed you and do add your name to this thread!) "nice stuff" from Katherine Shaw (Triangulation: The End of Time), and he claims the best stories from Unparalleled Journeys II to include those from Michael Ehart and Robert Orme.
 
I only skimmed the top few posts, so apologies to anyone I missed.
 
You guys ROCK.

I recently spotted a pair of familiar names reading Locus's "what's in other magazines" section: http://www.locusmag.com/2008/Magazines01.html

Hint: look under Andromeda Spaceways and Weird Tales.

Also, Justin Stanchfield's story in Ruins was chosen for Dozois' Years Best and nominated for a Nebula. It's true he isn't a very active member, but he did reply to my PM when I congratulated him on the story.

Also Jim Hines is on the editorial team of what lookt to be a tremendously fun antho to be published by CatsCurious Press, and is getting great reviews on his latest book.

Okay, I looked under Andromeda Spaceways and didn't see anyone I recognized. Who'd I miss. I did see Michael Boatman listed with Wierd Tales. That was cool :)

I got my Desolate Places copy yesterday and have been slowly reading my way through it. I am really enjoying the stories so far, some are very abstract and some are as down to earth as you can get :) a great mix
 
I am surprised no one else (so far) wrote a post apocaliptical story...I was expecting a bunch
 
I didn't even think to see who else from the forum is there but now I will keep an eye out...

Wow Camlille, I loved that story. The idea of the buterflies and the dust angels is absolutely gorgeous. At first I was put off by the letter style of the story (seen one too many bad stories formated like that) but you got me sold halfway through. I loved it. The way she writes and the subtle changes in her voice are excelent.

I am just curious...does she die or is she saved?

Together-Nowhere was also impresive, the idea of a self-sustaining suit really creeps me out. I wish he wouldn't have killed her though...a freak accident or something like that would have worked better IMHO

Oh and tenth orbit was very nice, a bit too narative at points for my taste but the last few paragraphs were well worth it. Great portraial of an alien mind, I loved the creepy ending.

Thanks. Glad you liked the ending. Tenth Orbit does seem to polarize a little... Some readers feel that it's too long, and slow, while others are drawn in and fascinated. I have a couple of reviews from earlier publication - one glowing, the other critical. Keeps me amused... Hope to be able to give my own feedback sooner rather than later!
